The Southern Alpaca Connection's Wine and Coffee Shoppe Welcomes You!!!
...But First Coffee
It begins with the roasting operation...
To roast an excellent cup of joe, you need to first love the art...then you have to act on your instincts to create the best taste experience possible. At The Alpaca Bean Coffee Roasting Company, we first look to import the best green beans from Peru, Bolivia, and other American countries. We then look forward to the opportunity of blending these fine beans into special and individual taste treats. We also enjoy seeing the expressions of our customers as they realize the pleasure of drinking freshly roasted coffee, made special just for them.
It continues in a setting made especially for you to relax, tell stories, and simply enjoy the taste of a good mug of coffee. While we are not a coffee shop, as such, we do offer a good cup of java to go along with the conversation. The Southern Alpaca Connection is a special place...a shop, a gathering place, a return to historic Lavonia, a welcome change of pace. The only way to fully understand this is to visit...soon!
And Then The Wine!!!
When Judy and I began planning our move into having wine in our shop, we decided early on that we wanted to provide the people in our town and surrounding areas an opportunity to experience excellent wines beyond the local area. With that in mind, we began exploring differing wineries that were at least an hour's drive from our place of business. We visited a number of locally owned operations looking for just the right fit for ourselves and for our customers. We found that this was indeed a task, because there are so many fine wineries in Georgia to choose from, each with a pleasing way of greeting their customers and passing along their histories.
Finally, we decided on three wineries that matched up well with us and with Dawn, our daughter/manager. We selected: Crane Creek, Sweet Acre Farms, and 12 Spies, and felt we had done an excellent job at that!! Then we decided to go to a local winery close by for a wine tasting. While there we discussed the possiblity of making a Coffee Wine with the owner and struck up a potential deal. We decided that if Boutier Winery was willing to take up this challenge, we should also include its wines in our shop as well. So now there are four wineries represented in our Wine and Coffee Shoppe!
